            4 Steps & You’re In

            Austin Community College makes college more accessible with an open admissions policy and a simple enrollment process. There’s no fee to apply, and applications are accepted year-round. Once you complete these four steps, you’re eligible to take credit classes at any of our 11 campuses or online.

            Step 1: View the First Step video

            Step 2: Complete the application

            Apply Online

            Fill out the online application to begin. There is no application fee. An enrollment advisor in the College Destination Center will contact you about any additional documents you’ll need to submit.

            Submit Required Documents

            All documents must be received before your application is considered complete. Submit school transcripts and other documents. Check your application account for details, or click below to view instructions.

            Official/Unofficial transcripts

            New students must submit all official transcripts within 30 days of applying to the college. If you have previous college credit, upload your unofficial transcripts to your application account while waiting for official records to arrive from your previous schools.

            Test scores or exemptions for the Texas Success Initiative (TSI)

            You will need to take the TSI test unless you can provide previous test scores or proof of exemption.

            Meningitis immunization proof or waiver if you are under age 22

            Your application account will indicate if you need to submit meningitis immunization documents. This can include an exemption or waiver.

            We may ask for proof of residency during the application process. Submit residency documents only if requested.

            Confirmation of Completed Application

            You’ll be notified when your application is complete. Before you go to Step 3 >, you’ll first need to activate your ACCeID and ACCmail.

            You need your ACCeID and ACCmail to complete the remaining steps. You'll also use these tools as long as you attend ACC.

            Follow the link to get your electronic ID number and use it to access ACC’s registration system, your financial aid, and all your student records.

            Use your new ACCeID to activate your ACCmail account for official communications. ACCmail also comes with other Google applications for your free use.

            Financial Aid

            Don’t forget to submit your FAFSA to be considered for financial aid. This is an optional step but highly recommended. The average annual award is $4,558 - this could cover in-district tuition, books, and more!

            Step 3: Area of Study Information Session

            What you do in step 3 depends on how many college credits you have earned and if you are considered college-ready by TSI standards. If you’re unsure, call an enrollment advisor at 512-223-7747 or visit the College Destination Center.

            After you Register

            ACC Student ID card

            Obtain your free ACC Student ID card in person at any campus Admissions & Records Office at least one business day after registering for classes. Bring an official photo ID for identification. Learn more

            Purchase a vehicle parking permit or Capital Metro pass to help you get to campus. Learn more

            Textbooks & Supplies

            Don't forget to check Self-Service or ACCmail if you have applied for financial aid.

            Important Dates

            ACC’s academic calendar has 16-week semesters in the fall and spring and an 11-week semester in summer. Shorter sessions are also offered within each semester to provide students a variety of course lengths and start times. Don’t wait to complete the admission steps! Applying early ensures you’ll be ready when key registration dates arrive.
